Topanito Reposado is an aged premium Tequila, crafted entirely from hand-selected 100% Blue Weber Agave in a traditional, artisan manner.
Topanito Reposado ages for approximately six months in old oak barrels. During the ageing, Topanito Reposado develops its bright golden color and its refined aroma of agave, vanilla and forest honey. On the palate, Topanito is smooth but yet with a rich taste, due to its 40% vol. differentiating it from weaker Tequilas.
The agave hearts are steam-cooked in order to transform the carbohydrates into fermentable sugar. For Topanito, a major share of the agaves are cooked in thick-walled brick ovens. This slow process takes at least 36 hours, and results in a pure, sweet agave flavour of the final Tequila.
The agaves are shredded and squeezed to extract the juice. Next, the juice is fermented using natural yeast. For Topanito, the fermentation takes 48 to 60 hours, in order to access the full, splendid aroma of the agave. Many Tequilas produced for the mass markets are, in contrast, fermented for only 10 to 12 hours, which results in a weaker agave aroma.
Topanito Reposado is a wonderful Tequila for connoisseurs who like to sip it neat, as well as for everybody who wants to rediscover the true taste of a premium Tequila. Obviously, Topanito Reposado is also an excellent choice for a wide range of Tequila cocktails.
