Olmeca Añejo is aged for 18 months in 200-litre white American oak ex-bourbon barrels. This supersedes the CRT standard of 12 months in a barrel no bigger than 600 litres and creates a more complex, aged spirit.
Fruity aromas, with hints of strawberry, cherry and prunes, slight notes of lime and, underneath, smoky woody notes with a touch of black pepper. Smooth to taste, woody and slightly sweet honey flavour with an extended aftertaste.
Olmeca Tequila is one of the only ranges of mixto Tequilas in the world to contain a proportion of Tahona liquid, extracted from agave plants using the 500-year-old Tahona method. The sugars from the agave plants are combined with a fine-quality cane sugar before being twice distilled in copper pot stills to create a smooth Tequila.
