JLP The President's Tequila Anejo is produced from the finest 100% Blue Weber Agave and grown uniquely in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Each Bottle is hand made and has been aged in American oak barrels for 12 months.
JLP The President's Tequila was created to honor a history rooted in the original development of Tequila. In November of 1758, Jesus Lopez Portillo Y Galindo, the President's ancestor and governor of the Villa of Tequila in the Jalisco region, granted a hacienda to Jose Antonio in the name of King Carlos III of Spain. It was there, in 1795, that Cuervo's daughter Maria married Vincente Albino Rojas - from whom JLP's ancestors also descends - and they founded the first distillery, La Rojena. They would become the first to receive concession from King Carlo IV of Spain to develop and produce Tequila.
