Patron Spirits are set to release Gran Patron Piedra, its first extra-anejo Tequila, exclusively into global travel retail at The International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) show in Orlando next month.
Produced using 100% Weber blue agave and the traditional Tahona process this limited edition Tequila, is aged for more than three years in new American and French oak barrels and is described as having fruit, fresh mushroom and light citrus on the nose with a "sweet, yet rich and complex" taste with earthy, herbaceous agave notes.
"We created Gran Patrón Piedra to offer tequila aficionados a tasting experience unlike any other, its complex flavour profile and remarkably smooth finish sets Gran Patrón Piedra apart in the ultra-aged tequila category." - Francisco Alcaraz, Patrón’s master distiller.
The release is presented in a signed and numbered bottle inspired by the Tahona stone, and a gift box that converts into a display case. Patron has not yet released an RRP for the duty-free exclusive, but claims it will fit between its Gran Patron Platinum and Gran Patron Burdeos.
