After years of grueling negotiations with Mexican authorities, founder of Mexican-based Pura Vida Tequila Company Stewart Skloss is proud to announce to his fellow Texans, "Life is now in session." The initial offering of Pura Vida Silver, Gold, and Anejo is elegantly packaged in a handsome traditional cobalt blue glass, crowned with a hand-polished silver stopper.
Pura Vida Brand Ambassador Teams will be hosting Pura Vida tastings throughout Texas, as the brand expands across all U.S. markets throughout 2011. Tequila lovers can now savor their first taste of this rare, life-enhancing elixir at weekly tastings at such retail chains as Gabriel's in San Antonio, followed by Twins in Austin, Goody Goody in Dallas/Fort Worth, and Spec's in Houston.
"It is an honor and a privilege to be able to finally share our handcrafted triple-distilled tequilas," said Mr. Skloss, who's not only the founder of the Pura Vida Tequila Company, but who has also been a devoted aficionado of tequila since the early 80's when he savored his first shot at the famous Cadillac Bar in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. From the porch of the Hacienda at the Vivanco plantation, Stewart and his partners Feliciano, Papico, and Sergio all concur, "We know our line of true 100% Blue Weber Agave tequilas will instantly be recognized not only for its unique packaging, but more importantly, for what's inside–the best damn tequila anyone has ever tasted."
Hinting at the intrigue-filled history behind Pura Vida, he adds, "Our secret family recipe does not use additives or caramel for color adjustments like other brands. It only consists of triple-distilled 100% Blue Agave tequila. Pura Vida is the only tequila in the world that breathes a scent of history into each taste. It's a link to the tragic, yet heroic, back-story of the Vivanco Brothers as well as a testament to what can be accomplished when spiritual resilience meets good old-fashioned enterprise."
Five different varieties of Pura Vida Tequilas, including one made especially for frozen margaritas, are in the works, so get your blenders ready.
